Default Why 1.8T Quattro felt slow?

I test drove a '99 1.8T Quattro, did not have much torque. Is it because of AWD?

I currently drive a '94 Integra and the A4 didn't impress me.

I need some info...
Will I see a big difference if I change the Chip in the A4?

Cause it is slow. 150Hp isn't much for such a heavy car.

Default was it at a dealer, or private owner?...

the stock 1.8t isn't as bad as some make it to be, but if it was a private owner vehicle, i would make sure that the turbo is not leaking and was very well taken care of. drive a couple of other ones (i would reccomend going to a dealer and having a look, but then again mine had a bum turbo on it from the dealer, which they replaced free under audi assured). i felt it had quite a bit of torque once the new turbo was in and all the lines were replaced, then once the chip went in, woooohooo. but of course i want more. you are definetly going to have a problem getting the wheels loose on the stock setup with quattro though. but hey for $500 it makes a night and day difference. also, if you buy it from a dealer, be straight up with them and let them know your plans. also was it a 5spd or auto, because the auto is way slow and unsatisfying.

Great questions:
It was a dealer and it was automatic.

It is a nice slow solid car. 150hp isnt enough. 2001 has 170hp and its much better.

Default the 20hp is hardly "much" better

the car is still severly under powered, and I think everyone would agree with that.

Default It is a bit under powered...but not as much as we all complain about

I was just looking at the specs of my dad's 78 celica GT this last weekend...the liftback weighed in at 3275lbs...and with it's 2.0 L engine (the famous and bullet proof 20R) made a wopping 95HP!!!! I used to love that car...and it never really felt under powered to me...

With new ones you have to go to the GT-S for 180hp (and damn you have to drive way up there to get it) but they weigh in at 2500lbs which makes for a nice change However the 78 had backs seat you could fit into in a pinch...the '02 HAHAHAHA
