I concur, you are running newer 97 and up tail lights. Essentially, same thing I did, but I haven't got the write up, I just swapped wires.

Thanks Guys! WTF....so Ok...I need to find which wires in the clip(harness) and basically Switch em. I hate cutting factory harness'...... Nothing good ever comes from it.. or I gotta buy new lenses.......

Hmmmmf!! OK.... I will look around but if anyone knows where the right up is let me know.....or perhaps if anyone wants to trade.

I appreciate your guys expertise!!!

It's a very easy mod, but if you wanted to trade with someone, I'm sure you could and get some extra cash. 96-97 owners like to upgrade to newer style parts.

Actaully, I still have my stockers somewhere now that I think about it...

I've no idea what they cost, you can have them if you pay for shipping and perhaps a lunch and beer

Ok guys....did the swap sat morning and it was easly...whalla....im all good now....

Now If I could just get my brakes situation fixed I will be good to goooooo...

Similar problem

I read this thread, and the right up referred to but still can't seem to grasp why my taillights are not working properly. Possible damage from a wreck and just jerry rigged? Hope these pics will show up and help. Oh yes, this is with the breaks on and in reverse. I can take a pic of the harness if you would like to see, but it looks just like the right up pics do.
