exactly! I've been on this board for about a year now, and....
I feel like I "know" most of the people that frequent this board as much as I do. In fact, I've atually met and hung out with some of them. So essentially, while the board serves as one of the best sources of information out there, it also serves as a daily sort of "hey man, what's goin' on dude" sort of thing as well. So all I can tell you is the following:
"DEAL WITH IT, PUNK!"<p>APR V.3,Remus,Eurosports,S4 17" Wheels

I agree to an extent...
There are clearly many threads where the subject indicates something like "OT: [fill in off-topic stuff here]" Well, if it's OT, post it in the Off-Topic forum, it's what it's there for!
However, like others said, it's fun! We're a community, and I fully understand why people want to enjoy and take advantage of that sense of togetherness with other members. I won't fault people for that.
Perhaps OT stuff gets posted in the A4 forum because it appears to receive more traffic than the OT forum. So if people want to share a piece of their lives and get feedback, they want to do it where it gets read. I might get flamed for this, but maybe a compromise for those that want to do that is to post a "stub" here with a link to the actual thread in the OT forum. That way the OT traffic in the A4 forum is minimized. I find that is easier for me to deal with than a full-blown OT conversation.

Re: Why do people just this forum to chat?
Sorry, I disagree with you. I think the forum is a pretty good mix of technical and comparison info along with general car/audi stuff.
I enjoy it and it has proven quite valuable to me in diagnosing and recognizing problems.
