Why do people seem to not like H&R coilovers?

I notice everyone usually goes with something else such as just springs and different shocks for a little drop....vogts seem to be popular but very few people suggests HR why is that?

the reason it seems more people go with springs and shocks is cuz it costs cheaper and not everyone is going to track their car or really need the adjustability of coilovers. many just want to drop their car a bit and get some increased handling. but i don't know where you're getting your info from.. back in my day almost everyone recommended h&r coilovers as THE suspension solution.

Seriously though, H&R is a great quality product and a lot folks here are running their springs and coilovers.
I have the S4 avant street coilovers on my 1.8tq and like it a lot for the street. My only regret is not holding out for more serious suspension for track and autocross work. Consequently I probably will be selling these sometime.
H&R does have the "ultra" coilovers for more serious work.
They are good but there are other good suspension companies out there as well...

There are some respected AW members running this or similar, or have done so in the past.
Didn't mean to make it a for sale post, just kind of kidding around.
But I would like to upgrade.
With about 15k miles on the set, I'd sell them for $600 firm. $750 if you want to bargain down from there and feel like you accomplished something :-D (I crack myself up...)

I'll keep it in mind, I actually might have something else from a friend lined up, but if not I'll get back to you, I'm pretty interested and I would possibly pay the 600, just need another paycheck and have some maintenence issues to take care of

Plus, the rear shocks kept unscrewing from the top mounting bracket, causing it to start to strip the threads. Used threadlock to fix it.
H&R refused to do anything about the tracked shock forks b/c I couldn't locate my receipt.
Plus, they were always too soft for my taste.
Just replaced that with H&R Race Springs w/ Koni Sport adjustable shocks. - much better.
Just my two cents.
