Why doesn't the A4 manual tranny bennefit from a 6th gear like the TT?

Default Why doesn't the A4 manual tranny bennefit from a 6th gear like the TT?
Why didn't Audi give us an overdrive 6th gear? I'm still surprised to see the engine at 3400 RPM while driving 80 MPH. The engine must be screaming driving high speeds in Germany!

well, the 180HP TT has a 5speed, as do the 150HP & 170HP A4s

should have specified I was referring to the 225HP TT, but 5th on my 2.8 still seems too low

Default I agree with you, I was just pointing out that it prob wouldn't make sense to have it on the A4s and
not on the 180HP TT.

I'll be enjoying my 6-speed in a few months, I hope!!!

well my buddy just bought a 225 TT, so now I'm jealous! but I still prefer my sedan 4 everyday use

Default A taller 5th would've been nice...
...I hate the fact that I'm at ~4k rpm when at 80.
