Why isn't Audi in the WRC??
I was watching some WRC racing today on the Speed Channel and I found it interesting that Audi doesn't participate in this Rally Series/Group.
Anyone know why this is?

they used to participate in the 80s...
with some really kick *** Group B cars like this guy...

But after a serious crash that killed a driver, both Audi and Ford realized the massive hp Group B cars were a really dangerous venture and pulled the plug on their teams. Audi never got back into it (though Skoda races for VAG now). They also don't have any cars that would be especially well suited to it. The A3 might do well, but WRC fans are probably not in their target market for that car.

Why would Audi want to humilate the other cars?
I mean seriously.... if they ran a newer B5 A4 on the course with everything else.... I seriously think Subuaru, Mitsu and even the Peu' people would have something to chase. Just my 2 cents.

umm all the cars in WRC are awd .....
vw owns skoda and audi and theyre only doing for manufacturers points, so there would be no sense in introducing more competition for the same manufacturer
