Default Why are some folks riding different tire pressures front and rear?........

What would you recommend front and rear on 225/45 17's?

Is it onlt relevant if you're getting the car loose, to further prevent understeer?

Relevant to everyday driving? I almost never get the car loose, especially with the new 225's.

Default As you adjust pressures front to rear you can adjust under / over steering..to some degree.

Of course you still need to be sure you ahve enought pressure in the tires to run safe and perform so this method of correction is really only useful on the track where slight changes are far more perceptable...IMHO.

I put more air in the front to compensate for engine weight.

Default Not sure if this will help but...

When I take my shifter kart out to the track we have a tire pyrometer that measures the temperature of the inside, middle, and outside of the tire. If the middle reads hotter than the inside and outside, we know that we are not using the full contact patch and reduce the pressure. If the middle is cooler we raise the pressure until all three points are near equal. This makes a big difference in handling for the kart, but again it's a completely different setup than the audi. Might be worth a try though.

I'll wash it the next time I take some pics, it rains all the time so I never get a chance.
