Why will my car only take 11 gallons of fuel?...........
This is strange, forrsome reason I can only ump 11 gallons of fuel into my car. I try to fill it up at the pump and it stops. My guage only goes a little above 3/4.
Anyone have any ideas or had thisa happen to them?

Hasn't to me, but could it be...
that your mileage indicator is not accurate or is broken? It sounds like it is. I would try this:
1. Buy a gas can and put a few gallons in it.
2. Fill your tank as much as you can. Remember to reset your trip computer back to zero miles.
3. Drive it as you usually would on a daily basis until you are reaching the Empty mark on the gas guage.
4. Note the mileage since your last fillup.
5. Now, put the gas can in the trunk and try driving the car beyond the point where you (and the car) believe you should be out of gas.
6. If it still has fuel, keep driving. Continue to drive it until you have driven approx. 300 miles on that tank. At this point the guage should still be on empty but you will still have fuel.
7. Go to a gas station and refill the tank. Does it fill all the way? You should get 12+ gallons in it and have it land on the Full mark when you are done.
8. If you happen to run out of gas very close to when the guage says you should, then put the gas in from the gas can, and schedule a check-up with a dealer or reputable mechanic.
I suspect that your gas guage is not working properly and so it is reporting empty when you still have approx. 5 gallons left in it. Doing the test above will help you determine that. Oh yeah, and take the gas can out of your trunk when you are done... just to be safe

Yes, I had this problem.
My gas gauge also fluctuated wildly from time to time. It was finally found that the "sender unit" (don't know what it is, I'm an E.E. not a mechanic :-) ) in the gas tank needed to be replaced. Mine is an '01 model purchased in August of 2000. Had about 10k on the odometer when the gauge started getting freaky. With any luck, the new one will be okay when I hit 20k, only 5k to go :-)
