Why would anyone go with a 0.8 bar instead of a 1.0 bar chip? does the 0.8 bar cause less wear

With an 0.8 bar chip, HP matches Euro version of the 1.8T engine. Seems reasonable to me.

Default I have both ... if I did track events, I'd ...


probably run the .8 bar chip. But since the most my car gets is "spirited" driving once in a while, I leave the 1 bar in there. I'm not worried much about the mechanicals of the 1.8T engine holding up.
