ive got a weird vibration in my 2.8l quattro, right after shifting into 4th the car vibrates almost like the tires arnt balenced. however the speed doesnt effect it, just the rpm that i am in during 4th, no other gears have this vibration. it seems to occur only at 3500-4000 rpm in 4th gear, above or beneath these revs the vibration goes away completely. could it be the tranny end bearing?? if you have any ideas or have experienced anything like this let me know. thanks for the help

4th is the closes to a 1/1 ratio on your trans and so produces max power transfer. i think this may be causing the drive shaft to vibrate. it's something that can easily be checked. i've seen a few posts on the center bearing going bad.
