Default Wierd Sound. I am getting a scratching type noise from the passenger side front wheel...

It is especially noticeable when im driving next to something, cause the sound is reflected louder. Sound almost as if something is dragging. The brakes still have plenty of pad left and are the original pads and never been replaced. Car only has 20K miles on it. Any Ideas?

Default is it lowered? it may be the sheet metal covering the rotor rubbing on the rotor itself.

try taking off the wheel and spinning the rotor, seeing if you can hear where the scrapping is comming from. I would bet it is the sheet metal covering the rotor.....same thing happened to me.

Also, listen to see if the sound becomes more frequent as you accelerate.

If it's a bearing it will get louder when taking sharp hard turns in a certain direction and then be completly quiet in the other direction. When I did my bearing it wasn't really a scratchy sound, more like a resonating wobbly sound.

Default I had a wheel bearing go on my old Jetta and the sound was completely different.

I could be wrong, but the sound that i got when my wheel bearing went was much louder and it was more of a humming sound.

Default Yes it is lowered, and that sounds very practical...

But my question is how does lowering it effect this?

Default

when it was lowered, the sheet metal may have been bumped

Default BTW, are you still looking for a chip??

I'm parting out my car, and selling it. I've got an APR chip with stock and chipped (for 93 octane gas) modes, plus throttle body alignment and fault code erase features. $350 with a stock ECU in trade!! (programs are $650 from APR)
