any other form of frozen precipitation did my Audi ever have one issue climbing 20% inclines throughout Tahoe and getting to my apartment just off Keller, which I know has 25%+ slope in several sections. I had a 1/4 life on my Blizzak's and they still got the Audi through the thickest nature could throw at it. I then had Winterforce tires on the next winter and they ate through everything (ice included) without studs. You put a dedicated snow on a Quattro and it can handle more than any other vehicle in the snow until clearance becomes the issue and even then I plowed through 4'+ on occasion
Aside from Tahoe only Mammoth has snow accumulation like that in the U.S. and the Sierra Nevada range gets snow like New England alot, meaning wet and heavy cement.

Wow, I'm surprised they won't fit b/c of clearance.
They say: "Shur Grip Z meets SAE Class "S" clearance requirements (15.00mm)." Apparently they exceed them in fact.
Sorry for the newb question, but I'm not sure what the control arms look like. If I put these on, and they look like they clear everything and when driving I don't hear any contact, then in an emergency if I must use chains, I should be ok, no?

Shur Grip Z

I've used a chain before on my front wheels. I was towing a trailer so they made me put on chains. No visible damage on the control arms so I guess they fit just fine.
