Hi.I need some quick advise.
I have a 99 AEB engine car. I found a used chipped Ecu with the serial 8D0 907 557 P. My Ecu is 8D0 907 558 E (Europian car). Will this Ecu work on my car? The man that is selling it wants an answer fast.

How about the last letter E? This is a Europian car and i am buying a Us ECU.
I want to make sure because after buying it i will not be able to give it back.

I think The E letter was to do with Emissions regulations but i not sure.
Did you hear stores about proplems with swaping Ecus? I dont mean Immobilizer proplems. I mean Climate control proplems, engine proplems/damage ...... Is it possible for the car to not even start after the swap? If the euro spec cars have the same parts as Us then everything sould work fine.

I e-mail Apr about it. They said that the swap will not work because the 2 ecus have different chip types. If i am changing the whole ecu, will it matter what chip type i have? The only thinks that matters are that inputs and outputs of the new Ecu, that must match the old ecu.

I e-mailed Apr Europe. The must have great experience with the chip . I hope they tell me something new. I still have not understood why a chip type difference between the 2 ecus will stop them from working when swap...
