will brake indicator come on when pads are low?

Default will brake indicator come on when pads are low?
I'm feeling that I need to change my pads...will the dash light come on when they are very worn?

If you have brake indicators, they are supposed to.

Default if you car is equipped with brake pads with wear sensors, and the car is wired for it
then yes, the light will go on. If you fail an yof the above 2 requirements, you won't get a light.

note that e-brake light on when the e-brake is not engaged = low brake fluid.

ok, so the obvious next question...does a 98 a4 have wear sensors?
