Default will a giac chip fit in place of apr?....more

i've got an apr chip right now thinkin of switchin to giac for the k04 program.can i just remove the apr and pop in the giac?

nope, apr is soldered directly to the ecu whereas the giac chip is socketed

2nd that, easiest way would be to swap ECU's with someone.

Default you don't need to swap

you can bring it to a tuner and have them desolder the apr chip and then solder in the socket for the giac chip. shouldn't cost more than $50. or you could trade ecu's w/ someone.

What year are you and why are you running K04 w/ APR programming?

Default 2001...i'm not running k04 right now, but want to soon.....

i thought about gettin in on the gb w/awe, but the problem is that i live on the west coast in canada, and sending the ecu and not having a car for at least a week does not work for me

Default not necessarily - my GIAC is soldered in directly, no socket

It was a $50 option I believe when I got chipped at PES a couple years back. Maybe it's changed though...
