will some 16x8" 40mm offset wheels, with 245/45/16" tires fit on the A4?

what I thought is the other way around.
Same wheels, 45mm offset should stay more outward than 35mm. Is it??

Zero offset would locate the inside mounting surface at exactly the centerline of the wheel. OEM 45 offset moves that surface outward by 45mm. This effectively moves the inside edge of the wheel inward by 45mm ... Going to a 35mm offset reduces the inward 'movement' by 10mm.

htt p://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm
