Wind noise
D/S front window allowing wind noise through back end of window. A little worse on windy days or on hwy. Everything seems in good order,seals,weather-striping etc. car only has 74,000km (2000 a4 2.8q) any comments on this from possible own expr.

I've got the same problem at high(er) speeds of about 120-145 kmh.
Not sure what causes it, but it sure does annoy the hell out of me. I think its just a bad design, and really nothing we can do anything about.

Me too...mostly solved it
I noticed the upper part of the door wasn't flush with the car. It looks like the part framing the window was about 1-2mm father away from the car than the lower door frame. The wind noise was only noticible over 70mph or so...but it was annoying.
I put a clean sneaker between the door and car down by the door latch and closed the door. That left it open about 2-3 inches. I then leaned into the upper door frame (just the part that surrounds the window glass) a bit and bent it ever so slightly inward. That seems to have done it. I'm also going to adjust the door striker to allow the door to close an additional 1-2mm to really seal things up. I suspect the previous owner opened the door all the way and was holding it by the window frame while giving it a good yank.
If you try this, BE CAREFUL and roll the window down first. :-)
Cheers,

IIRC there are adjusters built into the window frame designed to adjust the window frame independent
of the door itself.
Easier than a sneaker
Well except for the need to pull off the inner door panel to get at the adjusters .. lol

Mine does it too but I've not gotten around to adjusting them as yet.
I hate to admit I had the trim off the front doors (switching the beltline trim to homemade piano black) and forgot al labout adjusting the frames. This thread gave me a doh!! moment.

i assume it's not from the mirror, which often causes it. There's a TSB on it. If you want a copy
shoot me an email. Mine was whistling from the mirror.
