Default Wind Noise? Car maybe TOO well built?

Maybe a dumb question...but i see soooooo many post on wind noise. It seems that the only thing i CAN here is the wind. The car is so solid that there are no squeaks/rattles..almost no engine noise when not accelerating. You can almost hear yourself breathing. So does this lend itself to more audible wind noise because there are no other sounds to drown it out .no matter how small the noise might be? Just a thought

No, A4s are riddled with wind noise problems.. saying that it's quiet is a cop out.

My wife's 97 Camry XLE is a good example of a quiet car that has NO wind noise on the highway. If there is any noise, it's because a window's been left cracked open.

I think it has to do with the fact that the top of the door ( window frame ) on the A4 is not as substantial, and nests against the opening, not over the opening, as on cars such as the Camry. There's simply not enough structural rigidity to maintain proper closure tolerances over time. Take a look at the trailing edge of window frames on other cars. Most are larger and incorporate a bend in their cross-section to stiffen them.

What you've never driven an American car or a Japanese car I take it?
Are you nuts?
The Audi is so much quieter than pretty much any other car I've driven and we're talking about too many to even count them.
Just check out the daylight you can actually see through the doors in some GM POS and tell me the German's make a noisy car. Hello.
I think you are WAY too critical.

Agreed, one mirror noise makes it riddled?

Both mirrors, driver's door frame top, and top of windshield on mine.
