Window switch replacement & Door lock

Window switch replacement & Door lock
My window switch mysteriously vanished a little while ago. I purchased a replacement switch, but I am not sure how to unplug the existing one. I took off my door and saw that there was a plug attached to the window switch, I don't want to just yank it out, so how do I take that off so that I can replace the switch?
Also, in the process of taking off my door the bar that is on all doors that indicates whether it is locked or not became loose. I placed it back in the hole I beleived to be the right one. When I lcoked and unlocked my door after that, the door works fine, but the switch does not go up or down anymore...How am I supposed to position it so that it works again?
All help would be greatly appreciated!
