A couple years ago I replaced the stock wipers on my 1998 Audi A4 with aftermarket wipers, and now I've decided to go back to the original wipers. Unfortunately I don't remember (and can't find any literature) as to how they are oriented on the windshield:

1. The blade with the "wind deflector: on it: which side (driver or pax) does it go on, and is the "deflector" side of the wiper toward the roof or the ground?

2. The blade that is curved: which side (driver or pax) does it go on, and is the curved side of the wiper toward the roof or the ground?

I'm surprised there isn't a picture of the wiper blades in the owner's manual (or did I miss it?)

By that I mean, is it cupped upward or downward?

They cup upward, Like a spoiler to hold the wiper on the window at higher speeds.

You partially misunderstand my question:

ONE of the blades has a "spoiler" on it. However, when you look DOWN on the blade, it is straight.

THE OTHER blade DOES NOT have a "spoiler" on it. When you look down on the blade, IT IS CURVED.

I gather from your response that on the blade with the "spoiler", the "spoiler" should be UP.

However, I also need to know the orientation of the other blade ("cup up" or "cup down").

I presume that the blade with the "spoiler" goes on the driver's side?

Thanks! I assume the wind deflector is toward the roof when the blades are parked?

The wind deflector is on the bottom "hood" side of the driver's side blade and the passenger's side blade curves up toward the roof.
