Default Woot! Its alive! One big issue im having though ==>

car won't run with the MAF plugged in.

any idears?

doesn't throw any codes, unless i unplug the maf then it says the usual maf not plugged in error.

i can drive the car barely w/o the maf plugged in, but it wont even idle with it plugged in.

could this have something to do with using 3" housing with software that was written for the stock one? didn't think it'd make that much a difference...

also I have my DV vented to atmosphere for now, but that shouldn't affect the idle.....(i dont think)

from what i've seen from driving it w/o the MAF, the car seems to spool up relativley quickly! it sounds wicked too.

Default With the MAF plugged in you are running VERY lean ... all that unmetered air.

In addition, at idle the vacuum will open the DV (assumming stock part) and thereby alter the mixture ... prolly leaning. I wouldn't run it with all that unmetered until I had the proper software. You can do damage in a very short time.

Default Because it is too lean to idle properly. The ECU thinks the MAF housing is the OEM size and adds

fuel based on the amount of air it calculates is entering the system thru that small OE MAF housing. You increased the MAF opening without 'telling' the ECU. Unmetered air is entering the system and since it IS unmetered the ECU doesn't add the proper amount of fuel = lean

Default NP. I'd be careful with how much go pedal I pushed even with the OE MAF housing re-installed.

The turbo can provide more air at full song than the OE ECU maps will be designed to fuel.

Default Congrats bud! Still on stock internals right?

iirc, you are making that into a winter project no? What kind of software are you on right now? Best of luck to you and congrats!
