Default word, tranny coming along SOON... MAY have the car by friday... not sure...

I am also not sure what the mileage of the tranny will be, but it will be pretty low...

but I stopped by the shop tonight, the car is sitting on the lift, the old tranny is likely getting dropped tomorrow...

we are replacing the throw out bearing and fluid swapping the new tranny...

I hear that MT90 is the fluid of choice?

anything else I should when the tranny is out? remember, I have a heavy southbend clutch and a 12lb flywheel...

MT 90 is fine. Not much else to do IMO. I imagine you swap brake/clutch fuild regularly anyway so ..

Do you really think the throw out was the problem?

Default no, the throw out wasn't the problem, it was the tranny... but since I am in there...

the bearing is only like $20... and no more additional labor...

while we haven't dropped the tranny yet, I am thinkign it is tranny based on the following:

-loss of 5th gear, intermittently
-loss of speedo (assuming that was a result of the tranny speed sensor)
-clattering noise that started in 1st gear (7,500 miles ago) and eventually spread all the way to 4th gear (5th didn't work to check)(4th gear was a recent thing, IE last few weeks)

we'll know later... I am not sure we are gonna crack open the tranny...

Default I was thinkign the xchip...

but I have dropped nearly all my extra (and non extra) cash on this tranny job... so I am a bit tight on the fundage right now...

although I have a good lead on a nice full time gig soon... (I am freelancing now, which is nice, but full benefits and **** would be NICE...)
