Default worn spot on steering wheel

after 6 years of use my steering wheel has developed a wear spot at app. 12 o'clock. does anyone know how or even if it can be repaired. it is not very large about .25 inches in diameter and I dont want it to get much worse.

Default my steering wheel is horrible

I'm switching to a sport wheel I've had layin round here for well over a year... speaking of which I'll source an airbag for that tomorrow.

Default Stop driving like a pimp with your hand at 12 o'clock? ;-)

Seriously, mine has a spot at about 10 o'clock and I've tried everything. The only thing you can do is keep it conditioned with leather stuff... but that can make it a little slippery. I gave up.

Default my cherokee had a spot on the top that eventually wore down and ripped

I picked up a fitted leather cover from wheelskins.com. The steering wheel on the xj jeep was very thin (compared to my zj grand cherokee) so the addeded thickness of the wheel cover was a plus which I do not think it would be to great for the a4. I put it on and painfully stitched it in place, then a week later removed the stiching and pulled it off then put it back on and re-stitched using what I learned the week before to make it perfect, the steering wheel looks factory and feels great but it was a pain in the a$$ to put on.

so if you really are irritated w/ the problem and don't want to deal with removing the airbag and whatnot to replace the steering wheel a wheelskin leather steering wheel cover may be an affordable answer.

http://www.wheelskins.com/</a
