Default I am with you there......

I have a friend with a 2001 Ford F-250 (or 350?), a good 35 to 40K. He calls me a yuppie. I call him a redneck.

So if you want to be different and not drive what everyone else has on the road (i.e. japanese cars, etc), yet not spend 10K for a Kia, we are status quo yuppies? And our cars are not as expensive as they think. Problem is, they have probably never gone to an Audi dealer before to be able to be better educated on the subject. So guess what, they are just plain idiots (IDIOTS is defined as "not being educated on -certain- subject(s))

Default GTI's great but I'd go for the 1.8t....

this cars my buddies and it's fast as hell. He's got some mods, chip exhaust/downpipe and it'll pretty much kill my APR stage II car. If they made a 4-Motion version I'd seriously consider it as my next car.

I came from a 97 GTI-VR6. I still miss occasionally the straight line acceleration but with Quattro, I have no regrets.

Default I thought the exact same thing about the 4motion, that's why I want the A4.

I wonder if VW has any plans for 4motion in the Golf/Jetta?

Same thing here...people think that the A4 is about 10K more than it's actually priced!

Default The new Mk4 VR6 cars have HORRIBLE Quality Control!!

STAY AWAY!! I had a 99.5 and had motor mounts breaking every 3 weeks, power sunroof motor went out twice, door lock module went out, all in 9 months! I've had several friends who had VW buy their cars back!

My other friend with a 2000 GTI 1.8T has his window fall into his door (dead window regulator) wasn't even a year old!
