would a bosche 5.3 abs controlerfrom a 99 work in a 96 a4 2.8 that origionally had a 5.0?

have you had the brakes or wheel bearings worked on?
can the vag talk to the abs computer?
clear the codes and see what happens

that was an older style abs system
when you order it just make sure that is the part# you get. make them read it back to you or something becase sometimes they fiqure if its out of an a4 it will fit any a4.... not true.

i have since this started about 2 weeks ago.. cleaned all 4 abs wheel speed sensors and the copper or brass holders that the sensors seat in.. also replaced my rear rotros and pads and front rotors and pads and bled the brake fluid a few times and also replaced the brake lines in the front before all of the replacements it happened once in awhile now after cleaning it happens all the time.. i replaced the wheel bearings about 2 years ago..
