would a bosche 5.3 abs controlerfrom a 99 work in a 96 a4 2.8 that origionally had a 5.0?

Default that could simply be a wheel sensor issue

have you had the brakes or wheel bearings worked on?

can the vag talk to the abs computer?

clear the codes and see what happens
if you can talk to the abs computer with the vag its prob ok.

Default you dont have anything under the seat

that was an older style abs system

when you order it just make sure that is the part# you get. make them read it back to you or something becase sometimes they fiqure if its out of an a4 it will fit any a4.... not true.

Default I just got a quote from Dad's Auto for $850 for that same used part.

Seems like a lot compared to what others have been paying.

Default i pulled the abs fuses because the amount of pulsing of the abs at almost all times now..

cant be good for anything now it is just turned off..

Default not prior to the problem only after the problem..

i have since this started about 2 weeks ago.. cleaned all 4 abs wheel speed sensors and the copper or brass holders that the sensors seat in.. also replaced my rear rotros and pads and front rotors and pads and bled the brake fluid a few times and also replaced the brake lines in the front before all of the replacements it happened once in awhile now after cleaning it happens all the time.. i replaced the wheel bearings about 2 years ago..

Really? So, "N" is the same part (whole pump/motor assembly), only upgraded engineering?

Default good now if you are sure that is the part you need to replace

then go on www.car-parts.com and see what you can find an m box for. dads is a great palce to get stuff but that is still a ton of cash.
