If you want to be chipped why wouldn't you just sell the stock ECU? Seems redundant.

Default Keep them both - you never know when you'll need a spare

If you must sell one, sell the stock since you want to be chipped.

Default I wouldn't chip it and sell it...you'll gain nothing, and probably lose something.

And to sell the ECU...you'll only gain $200. I agree with Tristan. Chipped ECU's aren't without their share of issues. Remember, your original ECU was built in a clean room by a robot. The chipped ECU was handled by a man (or woman) in an office somewhere. I would leave the unmolested ECU in the trunk with some tools, in the unfortunate event that the chipped ECU fails.

And by the way, a large number of chip failures seem to occur in very cold weather...in other words, at the most inconvenient time possible, it will die, literally leaving you out in the cold. $200 is cheap insurance.
