Would Mobil 0W-40 make your oil temp rise?

Yes, but so can detonation. Same fuel?

Default Never noticed it...

I've ran M1 0w-30, 5w-30, 0w-40. All got me up to about the same oil temp - about 180F in normal driving.

I may try that, but most of the 1.8t hard core guys say 0W40

Default i use 5w-40 in the summer here in CT and 0w-40 in the winter, for example.

5w-40 has better stability at higher temps. 0w-40 tends to thin out to a 30 wieght oil at higher temps.
