Default would you or could you fit a 225-45-17 tire on a 17x7 wheel?

i know i ran that size on 17x7.5 and 17x8 wheels. the options i'm getting for this new 17x7 wheel are 215-40-17 and 205-40-17. the tire that i'm looking for doesn't come in those sizes and for whatever reason, the tires that do come in the smaller sizes are like $20 MORE than the larger sizes! WTF?!

Default Depends a bit on the tires construction but in general a 225x45x17 will run on 17x7" wheel okay.

Tire specs from the maker will tell you the permissible range...
