Default They probably put the wrong weight in there.

That toyota will probably run for another 200K on that water!

Default flushing your engine....here's how

1. Drain 1 quart of oil out of your engine.
2. Go to Autozone and get a quart of engine flush (pick a brand...any brand...they're all more or less the same). Also buy a cheapie oil filter and 4qts (for 1.8T people) of cheap oil. In addition, you'll want to buy 4qts of Mobil1 0W-40 (from the 'zone) and an OEM Mahle/Mann filter (from the dealer or online).
3. Pour the flush/solvent into your engine.
4. Start engine and let it IDLE. Do not race the engine. Do NOT drive the car. Let it sit there and idle. Did I mention that you don't want to race the engine and you don't want to drive the car?
5. Wait 20-30 minutes while your car sits in the corner idling. Here's your chance to organise your tools, clean up the garage, organise your pr0n collection, avoid taking out the trash, etc.
6. Turn off the car and drain the oil and take off the filter. Let it really drain. Wait 5-10 mins for as much crap to drain out as possible.
7. Put the cheap filter on and fill up with the cheap oil.
8. Start it up and let the engine idle for another 5-10 mins.
9. Stop the engine. Drain the cheap oil and take off the cheap filter. Give it 5-10 minutes for most of the dregs to drain out.
10. Refill with Mobil1 and install your Mann/Mahle/OEM filter.
11. You're done. Celebrate. :-)

On a REALLY REALLY gooped up engine, you might have to do steps 1-9 more than once.

Cheers,

Default I would let it cool for 10-15 before removing the drain plug.

If you want to be safe (I recommend this), get some heavy dishwashing gloves before you remove the plug. Remember, that oil was 200 degrees! That'll do a number on your skin!
