Default I don't bother letting it cool. Just be careful. Hot oil is as hot as boiling water....

other than avoiding getting burned, there's no real reason to wait.

Default Ding!!! give this guy a cigar!!! .....one exception

On step #5.
I would NOT let the engine idle for 20-30 minutes.
The Stuff i used Gunk. The instruction Warned to idle the engine for only 3-5 minutes. The stuff was basicly Kerosine(sp) very thin. READ THE DIRECTIONS of what ever u gonna use.
I don't feel good leaving watery like fluids for 20-30 minutes.
That can cause bearing damage.
That's just me.

I left that stuff in for 3 minutes and it did its job...
Also the cheap oil...make sure u use the thinest you can fine....0w-30 0w20...etc
Thinner oil speeds up the movement of sludge.
Finaly, when done...U want to use a very HEAVY THICK oil M1 15w50. After i was done i used 5w30 and i had a leak around the oil pan. The next day i switched to 15w-50 and the leak went away on the spot. I kept it in for about a 3 weeks, then switched back to 0-40.
Trust me, U gonna have leaks!!!!!

DG

Default All Jiffy Lubes contain hackers

disguised as Lube technicians. Stay away like they are the plague, because they are.

Default um.... dont just let it idle with the cheapo oil... run it for 12mins at 3K rpm.

get the oil HOT so it dissolves more of the grunge in the engine.

hot oil burns skin too.

Default No. Let it idle.

The whole purpose is just to remove the remnants of the solvent from the engine.

Default I wouldn't let them flush my toilet. Auto-RX is the way to go.

Maybe do a Berryman's B-12 flush first and use a big filter for the Auto-RX.

http://auto-rx.com</a
