I have my first track day coming up on the 20th of June. right now I have Yoko AVS ES100's on my car. My fronts still have quite a bit of tred left, but my rears are at about 2/32" (all of lincoln's head plus a bit is showing).
I don't really like the idea of getting brand new tires and taking them out on the track right away. not only because of wear, but because I want to go into the day knowing how my car handles.
Should I hurry up and find some tires in stock locally or should I just run with the worn ones? Will my car pass tech with the worn tires?
BTW, i'm considering Falken RT-615's or Kumho SPT's for replacements. Anyone have any experience with these for light track use and summer street driving?

My track day is with the oregon PCA chapter.
They require a shop do a tech inspection:<ul><li><a href="http://www.oregonpca.org/events/drivers-ed/de-tech-inspection">Oregon PCA tech requirements</a></li></ul>

from the PDF you linked to
DOT-approved tires
must have visible tread depth. Vehicle must have same tire brand
and type at all corners and identical tires on each axle.
