k, so this is a continuation of my ignition amplifier issue thread....
the dealership had the bosch ignition amplifier (4D0 905 351) that i need to replace for ~$400. they also had the beru (8D0 905 351) one that comes up for my car but i'm not sure if the parts are def interchangeable for ~$187. then i go to vwparts.com and find that the same part #s for cheaper... the 4D0 one is for $168!!!!! over $200 cheaper than the dealership!!! so i call the dealership and asked to cancel my order of the 8D0 piece and told him that if he could come close to matching the price for the 4D0 piece, i'd just buy it from him. and he said that the best he can do is $375, which is what he gets for the part at cost.
soooo... can someone explain to me the big price difference? and also if you've ordered from vwparts.com and if you've had any problems with your orders?
thanks in advance ... i'm hoping to order the part from somewhere by lunch time today.

The dealership makes their money off parts and labor, so that's where they get you. vwparts is just trying to sell parts, so the cheaper they sell them, the more they are able to sell and the more money they make. They are also online and don't have the overhead that a dealership has. All those factors contribute to cheaper parts. I was sceptical too, but it all worked out great. I have the one in my car and have had no problems yet. You sure save a lot of money. Just do it!
