Default Xenon Headlights

I'm new to this forum. Can't believe the amount of enthusists out there exchanging valuable information. I just got a 98 A4 30V 2.8 L 5 speed Quattro. I can't leave well enough alone. Does anyone make a Xenon upgrade for that year ?

Thanks Rob. I can't believe I'll get an answer so quickly.

Default You have 2 options.

The 2 piece xenons on Rob's A4 are extremely rare and expensive ($1400-$1800). This is only "plug and play" solution.

I took the other option. I bought the 1 piece projectors ($309) and add a xenon kit ($460) This option has 2 drawbacks. 1. You have to trim some fender to make the light fit. 2. You have to figure out the wiring. But for $700-1100 savings I picked the second option.

I also liked the one piece look better.

Good luck!

projector means housing only. xenon kit includes xenon bulbs (the real ones) and ballast/ignitor.

Wiring is a lot easier than it sound. brown wire is ground and the other one is power. I don't have a lot of experience with electrical stuff and I was able to figure out which wire is for what in about 5 minutes.

Don't worry, without wiring the citylight you only need to worry about 3 wires - 1 for low beam, 1 for high, and one for ground.

Oh.. if you want to go the 1-piece option. You NEED a wiring harness from AWE Tuning. I think they are selling for $50.

Any other questions?

Default Well, not so rare...they are Euro spec for the 2000 S4

Yes, kinda pricey, I think around 1200$.
But, you can always get parts for them no problem.

Default I tried to find them before I decided on the 1-piece.

They are either sold out (lltek) or painfully expensive (pgperformance)

This is the only 2 place I know sells 2-piece xenon.

I probably did not look hard enough...
