Default It is the optics of the halogen reflectors and lens...it's not made for xenon light.

I'm assuming you have the old two-piece headlamps. Get yourself a set of E-code one-piece projectors. The xenons will look a lot better in those.

Default Yellow xenon light ?!

I install xenon lights on my 99A4. The kit is made by Philips. However, the light is yellow. I mean when you turn it on, it is white and blue at the beginning. Then it turns to yellow. Does anyone know what the problem is? I try to change the light bulbs, but the outcome is still the same. Can you guys help you on this?

Default

Are you sure they are not "all wheather bulbs" mistaken for xenon?

Default actually... I'm not so sure that's what his problem is - in fact, I don't think there is a problem

when HID's (Xenons) first ignite, they give
off a very intense blue. If the blue color kept
up, it would actually HINDER your vision.
Once the HID's(Xenons) are fully warmed up, the
color temperature is closer to the color temp
of daylight -- so the light may *look* yellow
to you from inside the car (it would not
look yellow to you if you were next to a car
w/o Xenons)
Walk out of the car, and look at your projectors -
I'll bet they look white up close -- and blue from
a distance.

Default Re: Yellow xenon light ?!

Well, I actually tried to put those light bulbs in Valeo projector headlight housing. However, it's still look the same- yellow. Isn't xenon light supposed to look white and blue? I've seen BMW's xenon headlights, they don't look like yellow. Can someone tell me how to fix this?? Is it because the ballast or what??

Default The blue color is a byproduct of the lens...

The actual light from the xenon capsule is white. When I had the xenon kit in the OEM projectors, I thought the light looked kind of yellow compared to other OEM xenons, too. Switching to E-code housings made the xenons look "bluer" much like the HIDs on Bimmers.
