yeow...was doing about 40mph wot 3rd gear...major studder halfway through the pull.

no cel...is this indicative of a bad maf?

Default Indicative of a plug issue although it could be MAF or cps or POS related. How old are the plugs
and what gap?

Sounds more like misfires to me. Bad gas, maybe old plugs, time for a new car???.

plugs arnt too old...10k...3prong densos (not irridium).

Default same thing happened to me, except it was at about 60mph....
no CEL until I shut the car off and turned it on again. I had blown up my MAF

Default maybe i should get some different plugs. i hate the plug can of worms on the 1.8t.
perhaps ill try some bosch coppers.

maybe your little air box mod killed the MAF

Default i think my maf was on its way out already :P
now that airbox breathes sooo much better...its possible it toasted the maf.
