Just found out the hard way. Had may turbo replaced because of the broken wastegate rod and YES they do and will replace the oil feed line for the turbo and add a new redesigned heat shield to help protect the wastegate rod. The wastegate is subjected to very high thermal stress and this new heatshield is supposed to help reduce this stress. I believe the newer turbos from KKK have a different material spec on the wastegate rod to better handle the thermal cycling so there should be fewer wastegate rods breaking in the future. The new heatshield is designed to keep more of the heat from the turbo away from the wastegate rod.
I wasn't aware that the dealers were replacing the heatshield and turbo oil feed pipe as a TSB, but only as a remedy for the broken waste gate rod. If they are doing this as a prevenative measure I would be very impressed.

I had the work done on a warranty repair. After some research my service manager came up 1. with a turbo and 2. this modifitaction that should be performed when replacing the turbo. He never said it was a TSB so I assumed that the retro fit was only done to cars that have waste gate rod failure.
Good question. I will call my service manager tomorrow to see if there IS a TSB on this.
