Default Yesterday's carnage. Warning... Audi injury enclosed...

So I was taking an overnight trip down to Aspen and then to Telluride to take some photos and just hang out and enjoy the mountains and my trip was cut rather short.

Just south of Montrose, CO (300+ mi from home, and 60 miles from final destination), a cinder block fell off a truck and shattered all over the road. There was nowhere I could go, so I slammed on the brakes and tried to straddle the smallest piece I could. ***BANG*** I immediately pulled over and shut off the car... white smoke everywhere. Looking under this is what I saw:

Walking back a ways, this appears to have been the culprit:

This is the mess we left on the road:

Unfortunately, AAA couldn't get it back home for me so I'm going to have to pay to have it fixed. Hopefully they know what they are doing and don't rip me off too bad... Till then, I'm driving a Toyota Corolla. Kinda makes me want to vomit every time I push the gas pedal.

Time for a panzer plate!

never done it myself, but I understand oil pan removal on the 1.8T is laborious (n/m)

Default Yes, Panzer plate keeps looking better and better. Sorry to see that! ;-(

My brother in law lives in Grand Junction if you need any help at all... I could hook you up with him as he's a GREAT guy.
