For you '01 1.8Ts that have had the cam chain tensioner replaced, did you have the TB done as well?

My 40k service is coming up fast and I've already made my dealer document my rattling cam chain tensioner. I was told by one of the techs that it's not necessary to touch the timing belt side of the engine to remove the chain, etc. to replace the cam chain tensioner. I find this hard to believe. It has been my understanding that releasing the tension off of any belt and putting the tension back into it will lower the integrity of the belt. Therefore, if and when they replace the cam chain tensioner, and they do in fact release the TB, I don't want them to re-use the TB. I don't mind paying for some of the labor or for the TB, TB tensioner, roller, etc. if they're willing to discount the labor on it since they'll already have the hood open and working on it. I think I need to have a talk with my Service Manager.
