? for you all...what's the supposed duty life of your avg coil pack?

Default ? for you all...what's the supposed duty life of your avg coil pack?

reason why I ask is i've had 2 die within 2 days of each other...not fun running on 3 cylinders!

Just kidding, I assume you replaced the first one before the second one went.

Out of curiosity, how much was the replacement coilpack?

Default well yeah! first was cylinder #2 dealer replaced under warranty two days later

cylinder #3 replaced under warranty. the flat bed guy was really starting to know me =) thank god it was under warranty as i've heard that they are the cheapest things.

Default Be gratefull you didn't need to replace that thigamajig underneath the air-box control module

for the coil-packs.......cha-chingggg !!!(400cdn)

Default you're referring to the MAF sensor? Those are pricey from what i've heard.

but if you replace enough of the coilpacks it could end up costing more!

Default No he's talking about the ignition amplifier.

You've got an '01, don't think you've got it. They apparently integrated it into each coilpack on the later MY. On the '97 however, when it goes bad, you're out $360. Trust me, I know :-\

Well i've had some of my 02 buddies have their coil packs die at 8k not chipped.

Default The 02 have a world of issues with coil packs.

Worse than any of the pre 02 models ever had (though 01 wasn't a particularly good year either). I don't know what changed to make this such a prevalent problem....
