I have a completely aftermarket stereo system...amps, wiring, speakers, head unit, etc....
Can I still integrate the 6160 kit into this system or no? I'd like to be able to but I want to know if I'd be chacing my tail.

1. Your new head-unit has a telephone mute feature; and
2. You have wired the radio mute wire from the original Concert radio (I'm assuming you have a 99.5)wiring harness into your new unit.

The two things I am not sure about is whether the std microphone and speaker will work. I did not use either in my install, chosing to use the external units provided with the Nokia carkit.

Figures...my $550 head unit doesn't have a telephone mute feature!
I'd like to know where you put the speaker for the handsfree set. I imagine the mic can go in the A pillar, but what about the speaker?

The stereo won't mute. There is a post here somewhere about an erikkson phone, and it has a mute accessory that "splices between the head unit output and the speakers - this would serve the muting function.

You can do the FAQ's that are here, including the mic, but probably excluding the dedicated speaker IF you didn't have the Bose system, but you probably won't hear the phone ringing anyway
