if this is just my car. I've read the posts and I get mixed messages. Some say their "touchy, mushy, soft, ect."

But mine takes quite a bit of travel to start biting. They don't sink to the floor but if I push them down about 3 or 4in's and hold it, the car will slow but it seems that it looses bite and will just keep rolling at a steady pace. I have to press them down about 6in or 7in's or so to get the brakes to bite. We've bled the brakes last night and it improved a little but I'm thinking that this can't be right. There's just too much foot travel and too mushy of a feel for the brakes to working correctly. It's kinda dangerous to drive this thing.

I'm about to make a lunch appointment with the brake shop up the street from my job. This is starting to worry me. The last thing that I want to here is that I need a new Master Cylinder.

Default Bleed them again, and make sure you have enough fluid in the reisvor...

also, how new are your pads? When stationary, if you push your food on the brake till it gets firm, does the pedal stay right there, or does it gradually sink to the floor?

Default If you needed a new master cylinder, the pedal would go to the floor.

Check the brake pads all around, and make sure the pads haven't seperated from the backing plates.

i've used it once as well, though you can damage the master cylinder if you are not careful

Default What pad and what fluid do you use?

Some pads just don't bite nearly as quickly as others. Is this something you've seen degrade over time? Or did it just happen recently with some new pads or fluid? You may still have some air in the brake lines, or if you just recently changed pads, your pads just may not be bed in yet.

Default You can damage the MC easily by pushing the pedal all the way to the floor repeatedly

if you have no other way than the pump the pedal method, put a block of wood or something under the pedal to keep it from going more than 1/2 stroke.
