Hi.
I went to pepboys and I think it is pink or purple in color just by looking at outside.
I knew as it was blue.
Did I buy the correct one?
It surely says Zerex G-05.
PS)
I completed assembling rebuild engine 2days ago.
I still have the overheating I used to have before I did the overhaul.
It gets hot when ignition's off.
I did not change thermostat and waterpump since it hasn't been long time since my mechanic did last timing job and he told me he replaced those too.
radiator, fanclutch, aux fan switch, and coolant temp sensor changed my self.
And waterpump, and thermostat were replaced with last timing job according to the mechanic I used to go.
I don't know what else could be. Maybe I should've changed thermostat at least LOL...

much easier to obtain at local pepboys, autozone, etc than g-12+ and cheaper too.
search the archives, it's been debated whether or not you should use this stuff. the hard-core vw/audi ppl will only use g-12+ while i'm from the school that believes g-05 is just fine- esp since that's what i used on my new remanufactured aeb engine.
in your case, i would have changed the thermostat. have you checked to see if the hoses/radiator are clogged? (ie do you see deposits inside?). check to see if the system is properly pressurized? also, did you bleed all the air from the cooling system?
good luck-

car is off. Totally normal.
If that is your only problem, don't worry about. No way around it unless you can keep your water pump rotating when the engine isn't on.

Coolant is coolant, or is it?
"VW/Audi vehicles, for these applications, use DexCool because that's in accordance with factory coolant formula recommendations"
G-05 all the way.
