2 weeks ago, i had to get gas at some "joe schmo" gas station in upstate NY. i was cheap & filled up with their "mid-range" gas, whatever it really was.
to my horror, instead of showing "FULL", the fuel gauge continued to drop & display indicated i had 15 miles till empty ( 140 miles away from home).
knowing that i had at least 16gals left, i assumed that fuel gauge was busted, slowly crept home & subsequently whined about it on this forum.
for a week, i used odometer to measure how much gas i had left in a tank. last sunday, i went to my Turks at my Shell & filled up with their best gas. INSTANTLY, the fuel gauge jumped to FULL!!! just amazing.
was this car programmed to recognise crappy gasoline & torment its driver for being cheap?
from now on, it's the best stuff only, even if it's $3 per gallon.
