Default $16 mod.....Lower grill

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/38085/mvc-014f.jpg"></center><p>
I promised my wife I'd fix and replace the backyard screen door this weekend... while checking at different screens at the local hardware store,I came across a nice dark powdercoated screen frame with a familiar pattern.....Well the pic shows my project this weekend.

Finally found a durable lower grill mesh that would best closely match the Caractere hood grill on my car...I still need to fix our backyard screen door though..heheh

Default Looks good but not aerodynamic. It could actually block a lot more air than stock.

Look at your stock grill. The slats are narrow and rounded in front and wide in the back. That's to present as little blockage to air flow as possible while still maintaining the plastic's impact strenghth characteristics (razor blades being best for air but bad for pedestrians). You'll see the same taper on all Audi OEM grills but on very, very few aftermarket or home grown grills.

Someone on one of the forums even did an air flow analysis of different grill designes and materials. Guess who came in first and second?

Default I did the same thing!

Last time that is.. Recently crunched my front end, and this time did it for $1.17 - using aluminum gutter guards from Home Depot. - Mesh is a better size than the screen door guard, and easier to cut (not to mention cheaper).

I had painted my screen door solution, but it got chipped instantly. My new ones I just left in raw aluminum finish.
