Default Is $21,500 a fair price on an '04 1.8tq 6speed, (sports package) 40k miles?

The car is in immaculate shape, save from the curb rash on the wheels, but it has new tires. Car also has the Bose package. Does that seem like a fair price? (Note the car is not for sale, I'm just trying to get a feel on how close to reality I would be with my price.)

KBB specs it out at about $22,700.

Thanks,
Richard

Default I'm in the PNW if that helps.

There are two for sale in my town (Eugene) one for 25,000 (38k miles, LOL) and one for 22,950 (more reasonable considering it only has 26k miles on it.) Both are '04 1.8tq6M's.

Default dealer or private seller?

good price from a dealer...could probably do better from a private seller.

Default I had the KBB in the original post :). KBB says about $22,600.

Honestly though KBB in my findings KBB is pretty inaccurate unfortunately.

Private seller, it's my mom's car I'm trying to help her sell it, trying to figure out a good price.

Default then it's a good starting point

I would figure out the average price between KBB, NADA and Edmunds and use that as a gauge. If a buyer tries to negotiate hard you can reference back to that number.

Shame, as most dealerships go by KBB, as do Banks & Insurance companies. ;o)
