A friend had this laying around. I would imagine you can get it from a hardware store. Ask for rain gutter mesh - black plastic. I think you could save the chrome strip. Once the grill is out, the center grill comes out (if you wanted to paint it, hint hint). I don't think it would be to hard to attach the mesh to the back of the chrome grill and put it back in that way.
