I have an A4 3.0 6 spd manual. I drive with the center arm rest to it's lowest position, I find it best for my comfort. It seems I can't pull the E-Brake without hitting the arm rest and lifting it a notch. Was it so hard to mold this feature to allow the E-Brake to not hit it?

My guess is they were desigining it for maximum functionality for comfort while driving (you can adjust it to many different angles / heights for driving), while likely being under a constraint for the amount of space to accomodate both the armrest and the brake. Plus, you wouldn't be resting your arm driving while the e-brake is on and vice versa.
But I'm with you, I've got a 5 speed and drive with the armrest on the lowest setting and that thing irritates me to no end everytime I drive.
But design flaw? I don't think the Audi haptics gurus would let that one get by them.
