thinking about getting a used 02 3.0 6speed.
any comments? not too concerned with modability, just want something with decent gas milage + reliable.
however, coilovers, sways and possibly exhaust would be a must.

MAF, all the vacuum lines and a turbo, all within 700 miles. I have some pics of it in my pic poster.
this one is a certified avant from a dealer with 50k miles. I'd have a couple years at least until the warranty's up, but I'd only want to keep it that long anyways. i was hoping since it's a v6 w/o a turbo, i might get a bit more reliability out of it? My B5 ran great up until sh*t hit the fan.

stay away from FK coilovers. if i were to do it again i'd probably just get aggressive springs and koni adjustables. it cost too much to install, adjust, and corner balance etc. but that's just my experience w/ coilovers.

I did a search and it sounded like the usual stuff.
how do people like the engine though? smooth? (fairly) powerful? wish they got a 1.8t so they could chip it?

Very pleased with my 2003 3.0. Get the manual with sport package, if you can.
Gas mileage is OK in the city and (IMO) surprisingly good on the highway. That's nice to know now that gas (91 octane) is $1.05 a litre.
Get a CPO version if you can.
Good luck.

If modding engine modding isn't your fancy, you'll be more than happy with it.

I wasn't thinking about modding when I bought it so I didn't care either. But now I kinda wish I would have gotten the 1.8 just for the mods. The 3.0 has been a good car to me though. No real mechanical issues. Just little stuff here and there. Good luck with the search.
