I replaced the switch due to the ghost open/close issue but the dragging.....

is like two rubber parts without lubrication...like a power window that chatters on a rainy day due to the channel rubber against a dirty window

I had this too, fixed this with a good cleaning and re-lubricated all the parts - simple fix

Which parts did you disassemble ? Did you remove the glass ?
