Default 02 A4 3.0 Brake fluid question

The service manual rec's brake fluid flush every two years. Does anyone know why, what is the best method to do this and what is the best fluid?
Thanks, Raido

Default Imo, brake bleed is useless unless you depress the caliper cylinder piston to clear that fluid too.

Not "usless" even though a regular job does clear the lines. Don't sweat bleeding until you do a brake job, just do it RIGHT then unless it has NEVR been done (1st set of pads). Brake fluid can last ok, accumlates water and produces corrosion. In an '02 it should have been done once, even by the dealer, who knows. If yo do it, I'd depress the piston caliper, not hard if the bleeder bolt is open. You can open all bleeders, depress the pistons (in front, rears must be turned while depressing) drain the whole system and close 3 bleeder bots and refill. Then beeed the rest. That should work best. Worth the extra effort. SynPower fluid is the best call.

Default Once you do a brake fluid flush you'll know why....

the brake pedal feel will be much better (Frim) and you'll feel like you put new pads/rotors on the car.

I've been told that water can get into your brake fluid, which causes the spongey feeling in the brake pedal. I try to flush every year (overkill) but it's money well spent IMHO (it's only $50 here).

Default brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, so when it gets hot from hard use>

that moisture turns into watervapor from the heat, and you get air bubbles, which make the pedal spongy and you get brake fade.

you need to replace it every 2 years, and if you track the car every year is a good idea.

flush the fluid, it's worth it to keep your braking system working at it's best.
unless you never need to slow down.
